IGP Specialty appoints David Nikolai as President of Programs Division

The appointment takes effect immediately, and IGP Specialty was formed in November 2025 from the combination of U.S. Risk and Safehold Special Risk.

Innovation Growth Partners Specialty (IGP Specialty), a United States-domiciled specialty insurer and subsidiary of USI Insurance Services, has named David Nikolai President of its Programs Division, effective immediately, according to Reinsurance News.

The company was established in November 2025 through the combination of U.S. Risk, a specialty lines underwriting manager and wholesale broker, and program administrator Safehold Special Risk, Reinsurance News reported.

Reinsurance News said Nikolai brings more than three decades of experience in insurance brokerage and underwriting. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of RT Specialty’s sports and entertainment wholesale practice.

The outlet also noted that Nikolai previously held senior roles at Alive Risk and served as President of EverSports & Entertainment Insurance Inc. for six years, and earlier started his career at Chubb in 1989 as a Senior Underwriter and Department Manager.
