Made Card targets mortgage loyalty with a homeowner rewards credit card

Company co-founder Alex Song says industry recapture rates remain around 20% to 30%, and Made Card reported 73% of users linking their mortgages within two months.

HousingWire reports Made Card is building a home-focused credit card intended to create ongoing value for borrowers after closing, as affordability pressures continue to reshape the housing market and keep mortgage rates elevated.

Co-founder Alex Song said mortgage relationships can last decades but are often fragile, pointing to industry recapture rates of about 20% to 30%. He described the approach as shifting engagement from periodic marketing to continuous, everyday interactions backed by rewards and savings tied to recurring household spending.

Song also said Made Card is designed to help reduce the overall cost of homeownership, citing that the average homeowner’s monthly credit card spending is almost equal to their mortgage payment. He added that the platform gives lenders a reason to engage through a financial product homeowners already use.

Made Card’s launch with Fairway Mortgage, according to HousingWire, reached customers in all 50 states within weeks, and the company reported that 73% of customers linked their mortgages within two months of account opening.
