Reinvestment Fund leadership turns over as two executives depart
Reinvestment Fund said Frank Fernandez, CEO of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, will take over in September, while former leaders move into new consulting ventures.
National affordable housing nonprofit Reinvestment Fund is undergoing a leadership shake-up, with two senior executives departing to pursue independent consulting ventures, according to Bisnow. Ira Goldstein, who spent 27 years at the Philadelphia-based nonprofit, left last month to launch IJG Urban Advisors. CEO Donald Hinkle-Brown is also leaving and previously formed his own company, Emergent Impacts, after more than 35 years with the organization, including 15 years as CEO. The nonprofit announced this week that Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta CEO Frank Fernandez is slated to take the helm in September. In statements accompanying the changes, both departing executives highlighted the organization’s focus on data-informed, place-based investing tied to affordable housing and community development. Goldstein said his early work at IJG will include continuing efforts tied to Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker’s $2 billion HOME Initiative, which aims to build and preserve 30,000 housing units. He referenced the One Philly Mortgage program, which is designed to cover lenders’ discount points to enable reduced interest rates, require a 3% down payment, and remove the need for private mortgage insurance, and he said he is also working with Jackson, Mississippi, on its housing crisis.
