Ruth Reffkin launches eponymous Compass real estate team in New York

Compass said the new team will start as a two-person operation with Susan Hirschorn as principal strategist.

HousingWire reports that Ruth Reffkin, the mother of Compass CEO Robert Reffkin, launched the Ruth Reffkin Team at Compass in New York City.

Susan Hirschorn will serve as principal strategist, and the team will initially operate with two people, according to the outlet.

In an email announcing the launch, Reffkin and Compass noted that Compass is now part of Compass International Holdings, giving the team what they described as a stronger national and international network for client service and collaboration.

Reffkin told HousingWire that she plans to keep the team at two members for now, while remaining open to adding more in the future, and she cited Compass platform support, including backend office help and transaction services, as a way to run a small team.
