Bright MLS names Steve Mapes EVP of growth and strategy

Mapes, who previously led revenue at First MLS, will oversee footprint expansion plus new revenue and partnership initiatives under Bright’s multiyear plan.

Bright MLS has appointed Steve Mapes as executive vice president of growth and strategy, tasking him with expanding the multiple listing service’s market presence and accelerating its long-term growth plans, HousingWire reports. The role focuses on adding new revenue streams and partnership initiatives as Bright executes its multiyear strategy.

Mapes joins Bright from First MLS (FMLS), where he served as chief revenue officer. Before that, he spent more than a decade at Lone Wolf Technologies, working across brokerage software and transaction management, MLS operations, and business technology, according to HousingWire.

In the new position, Mapes will oversee initiatives to grow Bright’s footprint and develop new revenue and partnership opportunities. Bright also said his remit includes identifying ways to leverage its technology and data infrastructure, an area the company has invested in over several years.

Bright MLS president and CEO Brian Donnellan said Mapes brings leadership experience for an industry shifting as technology changes how consumers search for homes and how professionals serve clients. Mapes said Bright is shaping the future of organized real estate and that he expects to expand the company’s influence and create value for brokers, subscribers, and shareholders.
