Cowbell launches OMNI AI decision system for specialty insurance

Cowbell says OMNI is designed to help insurers handle high volumes of lower-premium excess and surplus business while speeding up quote turnaround.

Cowbell, an AI-native cyber and specialty insurer focused on small and medium-sized enterprises, has launched OMNI, an AI-native Decision Intelligence System intended to support specialty insurance product development, underwriting, and delivery.

The platform is built on Cowbell’s integrated AI-enabled technology and a global risk pool of more than 55 million entities. Cowbell said OMNI brings together artificial intelligence, workflow automation, decision support, and governance, and is aimed at underwriting, claims management, cybersecurity services, customer engagement, product creation, and other operational processes.

Cowbell said OMNI’s initial application targets a challenge in specialty insurance, managing large volumes of lower-premium excess and surplus business for smaller organizations while maintaining underwriting quality. It pairs specialized AI agents with human underwriting teams to review submissions, pull relevant risk information from internal and external data sources, and generate coverage and pricing recommendations.

The company said the technology can produce eligible non-admitted quotes within minutes, compared with longer timelines in traditional specialty workflows. Cowbell also said it plans to expand OMNI across claims, cyber resilience, and product innovation.
