FTL’s diagnostic platform aims to bring real-time monitoring to CRE
FTL says its facilities triage approach targets the roughly 95% of commercial properties enterprise building-technology vendors do not reach.
Commercial Observer highlighted Field Technologies, or FTL, a diagnostic platform designed to give commercial buildings something like a check-engine light by flagging issues and helping close a service gap in facilities operations.
FTL founder Clayton Callander described how the problem is less about technology than access, arguing that many buildings still lack real-time data because large enterprise controls vendors like Honeywell and Siemens cannot economically cover the vast majority of properties.
The podcast also discusses FTL’s focus on the roughly 95% of commercial buildings that are outside typical enterprise reach, as well as how the company plans to price its offering at a fraction of traditional building controls.
FTL’s technology is positioned as usable across asset classes that are ready for deployment, with the discussion referencing lessons from 60 site deployments and outlining why it uses networking approaches such as LoRaWAN rather than Wi-Fi.
