Strategy repurchases STRC shares without adding Bitcoin
Strategy bought 288,930 STRC shares for about $25 million at an average price of $86.52 during July 20 to July 26, while continuing to build its cash reserve.
Bitcoin Magazine reports that Strategy initiated open market repurchases of its STRC preferred equity last week, buying 288,930 shares from July 20 through July 26, 2026, for about $25 million at an average price of $86.52.
The outlet said Strategy bought no Bitcoin during the period, and instead continued to grow its cash reserve.
Bitcoin Magazine links the buyback activity to Strategy’s Digital Credit Capital Framework announced June 29, which authorized up to $1 billion of repurchases across STRC, STRF, STRD, and STRK, with STRC treated as a priority.
The article also outlines how Strategy’s “Net Bitcoin Per Share” approach is designed to measure common equity value by starting from its bitcoin holdings and cash, accounting for out of the money convertible debt and other debt like instruments, and then adjusting for outstanding perpetual preferred stock before dividing by fully diluted common shares.
