US-led Rimpac drills around Hawaii tested tech-linked allied warfare
The exercises ran from June 24 to July 31 and included live-fire events that targeted multiple decommissioned warships.
The US-led Rim of the Pacific, or Rimpac, maritime exercises around Hawaii showed a higher level of technology integration across allied forces, according to experts cited by SCMP Economy.
The drills, which took place from June 24 to July 31, involved participants from 30 nations and aimed to support deterrence efforts toward Beijing, SCMP Economy said.
SCMP Economy reported that allied forces connected troops on shore with aircraft, surface ships, and undersea vessels to operate as a single network able to find, track, and attack the same maritime targets.
During the exercises, multinational live-fire events brought together troops and weapons from six countries with the United States, and included the sinking of two retired warships, USS Mobile Bay and USS Peleliu.
