Arch Capital names Bryan Lynch Head of ILS Experience and Operations
The appointment is effective from April and Lynch previously led ILS-related insurance management work at Aon Insurance Managers in Bermuda.
Arch Capital Group promoted Bryan Lynch to Head of ILS Experience and Operations within its Arch Reinsurance division, positioning him to oversee client service for insurance-linked securities and retrocessional arrangements. Artemis reports that Lynch stepped into the role in April after nearly six years with the firm.
According to Artemis, Lynch joined Arch Capital in Bermuda in 2020 as Senior Operations Advisor for ILS and retrocessions. Before that, he worked at Aon Insurance Managers as a Vice President focused on ILS management needs for large commercial reinsurance and insurance clients.
Artemis says Lynch’s prior experience included helping set up and license ILS and reinsurance entities, with oversight of the development, structuring, and management of other ILS transactions such as catastrophe bonds and reinsurance sidecars. The outlet also notes prior roles at HSBC Bank, Amundi, and EY.
Artemis frames the move as part of Arch Capital’s expanding ILS activity, including work with third-party capital investors to cede risk through structures, funds, and retrocessional arrangements, and fronting risks for some capital partners such as ILS investment managers. The article also references Arch’s reported allocation activity involving Eaton Vance and Arch’s Voussoir Re Ltd structure within certain mutual multi-asset strategy funds.
