Binance adds USDT-settled gold and silver options on Nest Exchange
The exchange is launching European-style contracts using a benchmark of multiple third-party price feeds, with retail buyers able to trade calls and puts but not write options under initial rules.
Binance is launching European-style options tied to gold and silver, settling in USDT, through its ADGM-regulated Nest Exchange, following strong demand for its metals perpetual futures, according to CoinDesk.
The new contracts reference a benchmark built from multiple third-party price feeds. Retail traders can buy calls and puts, but are barred from writing options, a structure that Binance says limits retail downside to the premium paid.
Binance said the rollout builds on trading momentum in its gold and silver perpetual futures, which have been available since January. The exchange framed the move as part of a broader effort to offer compliant, crypto-native ways to access traditional assets, with plans to expand the options suite.
Binance also indicated it could allow limited retail option writing later under stricter rules. In comments to CoinDesk, the exchange pointed to gold reaching record highs and investors seeking inflation hedges outside traditional equities as drivers of interest.
