Morgan Stanley launches spot Ethereum and Solana ETFs on NYSE Arca

The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) and Solana Trust (MSOL) charge 14 basis points and distribute 95% of network staking rewards to shareholders.

Morgan Stanley has launched two new spot crypto ETFs on NYSE Arca, adding separate trusts for ethereum and solana spot exposure. The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) and the Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (MSOL) are designed to track their respective spot markets, while also generating additional income through staking yields, according to ETFTrends, via Yahoo Finance.

Both trusts come with low expense ratios of 14 basis points and provide investors with exposure to ETH and SOL by holding physical tokens. The funds also rely on institutional crypto custodians to hold those assets, while benchmarks are used to measure performance.

ETFTrends says the MSSE and MSOL measure returns using the CoinDesk Ether Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate and the CoinDesk Solana Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate. Those benchmarks aggregate trade volume across major spot cryptocurrency exchanges at 4:00 p.m. ET to reflect true spot market values.

The trusts are structured to distribute staking rewards back to investors, with 95% of network rewards returned to shareholders. Morgan Stanley also cited client interest in digital assets and said it plans to use its wealth advisor network and direct-to-consumer retail channel to drive fee-based inflows.
