CyrusOne appoints John Hatem as CEO in immediate promotion
The KKR-affiliated data center developer said outgoing CEO Eric Schwartz is stepping down and will support a transition, as the company pursues new projects including a planned 200 MW facility near Fort Worth.
CyrusOne has promoted John Hatem to chief executive officer, effective immediately, and granted him a seat on the company’s board, according to Bisnow.
The Dallas-based data center owner, operator and developer said outgoing CEO Eric Schwartz is stepping down but will work with Hatem to ensure a smooth transition.
Bisnow also reported that CyrusOne has had a busy 2026, including an Army selection to build a data center on 1,200 acres at a Utah military base and announcements of new data centers in the San Antonio region.
The company also teamed up with battery energy storage systems firm Eolian in Fort Worth to speed deployment of a 200-megawatt data center near the area, and it plans to bring certain operations roles in-house in May.
