Equinix lifts 2026 revenue and capex outlook on AI demand

Equinix raised its 2026 revenue growth projection to 12%, and increased 2026 capex guidance to as much as $6.0B from $3.8B.

Equinix is increasing both its forward revenue expectations and its planned data center development spending as it bets that artificial intelligence workloads will drive demand for its connectivity-focused footprint, according to Bisnow.

The company reported strong second-quarter results on Wednesday, with revenue up 16% year over year, and booking growth of more than 30%, where Bisnow reports that most of the largest deals were driven by AI workloads.

Equinix then delivered more aggressive guidance that raised investor eyebrows, lifting its 2026 revenue growth projection to 12%, which Bisnow says is a $100M increase over prior guidance.

For 2026, Bisnow reports Equinix’s projected annual capex rose to as much as $6.0B from $3.8B, and annual capex for 2027 to 2029 is now expected at $5.0B to $7.0B, up from an earlier estimate of $3.0B to $4.0B. The company attributed the shift to both stronger-than-expected demand over the past quarter and confidence from an evolving AI infrastructure ecosystem that better matches its strategy, Bisnow reports.
