Strategy posts $8.22B Q2 loss as Bitcoin price declines

The Nasdaq-listed firm increased its Bitcoin holdings by 11% during the quarter and now holds 843,775 BTC worth $54.6B at current prices.

Bitcoin treasury company Strategy reported an $8.22 billion loss for the second quarter of 2026, attributing the result to a decline in the price of Bitcoin, according to Bitcoin Magazine.

In its quarterly report, Nasdaq-listed Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, said it continued raising capital, buying more Bitcoin, and paying down debt while strengthening its balance sheet during a period of meaningful Bitcoin price weakness.

Strategy CEO and President Phong Le said the company strengthened its balance sheet even as it navigated a significant Bitcoin price decline, and the outlet noted that investors buy Strategy stock for leveraged exposure to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Magazine also reported that Bitcoin is down nearly 50% from its October 2025 all-time high of $126,080, and that Strategy raised its holdings by 11% over the quarter to 843,775 Bitcoins, worth $54.6 billion at today’s prices.
