Eurostars buys Chemists’ Club Hotel at 52 East 41st Street for about $95M
The 107-key, 14-story property was most recently redeveloped and rebranded, reopening last year as the Chemists’ Club Hotel.
Commercial Observer reports Eurostars Hotel Company, a Spanish hotel chain that manages more than 300 properties globally, has purchased the Chemists’ Club Hotel at 52 East 41st Street in Midtown from Spanish investor Azora in a deal valued at roughly $95 million.
The transaction covers a 107-key, 14-story building built around 1910. The building originally served as the historic headquarters of the Chemists’ Club before being redeveloped and later opened as the Dylan Hotel, according to Commercial Observer.
Commercial Observer says Eurostars is a subsidiary of Grupo Hotusa, meaning the Midtown property is returning to a prior ownership connection. The hotel also houses Benjamin Steakhouse on the ground floor and includes amenities such as a lounge bar, coworking spaces, and a fitness center.
Commercial Observer also notes that the seller side was arranged by Eastdil Secured’s Jeffrey Davis and Scott Ellman, though it was unclear who represented the buyer. The article adds that Eurostars owns another property in Manhattan, the Eurostars Wall Street hotel at 129 Front Street, and points to several other recent New York hotel sales in June and May.
