Utica National names Abel Travis chief operating officer
Travis joins as COO effective July 27, 2026, taking responsibility for key operational functions across the company.
Utica National Insurance Group said Abel Travis will join the company as its chief operating officer, effective July 27, 2026.
In announcing the hire, Utica National’s president and CEO, Kristen Martin, said Travis is an experienced insurance leader known for building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence.
Utica National also said Travis will oversee key operational functions and work with executive leadership to advance strategic priorities and improve the experience for policyholders, agents, and employees.
Travis comes to Utica National after serving as senior vice president of affiliate operations and companies at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company, with prior executive leadership roles at AF Group, The Hanover Insurance Group, Chubb, Travelers, and The Hartford, according to Risk & Insurance.
