Amanda Staveley consortium agrees to buy Gold family stake in West Ham

The Gold family trust’s 25.1% holding is up for sale, and the deal is subject to a pre-emption process that gives existing shareholders the option to buy instead.

A consortium led by former Newcastle director Amanda Staveley has reached an agreement to buy the Gold family trust’s 25.1% stake in West Ham, after Vanessa Gold agreed to sell her family’s shares in the Championship club, according to The Guardian Business.

The move follows a previously agreed sale involving fellow shareholder Daniel Kretínsky that fell through, with the earlier plan aimed at making EP Group the single largest shareholder. West Ham were relegated from the Premier League last season, just two seasons after winning the Europa Conference League in 2023, the outlet noted.

In a statement carried by The Guardian Business, Vanessa Gold said that on June 12 she and Daniel Kretínsky had agreed a sale, but the original deal and other alternatives could not be completed. She said she has now reached an agreement to sell her family’s shareholding to a consortium led by Staveley, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, and PCP Capital Partners.

The outlet added that the sale remains subject to a pre-emption process, under which current shareholders will be presented with the option to buy the shares instead.
