Trump Media launches paid Truth API for faster access to Truth Social posts
The service is priced at up to $100,000 per month for paying subscribers, with critics saying it could enable market manipulation given Trump’s large influence on the platform.
Trump Media and Technology Group has rolled out a new subscription-based data service for Truth Social, called Truth API, designed to deliver a direct, licensed, real-time feed of posts from the platform’s most high-profile accounts.
According to the company’s announcement, paying trading firms and other subscribers can access posts earlier than other users for a fee of up to $100,000 per month. The offering is positioned as similar to paid data products available on competing social media platforms, but Truth Social’s pricing is particularly steep.
The program comes amid concerns over conflicts of interest and potential market manipulation. While the release does not mention Trump by name, his @realDonaldTrump account is described as the platform’s largest, with 13 million followers as of Saturday, and he is also the largest shareholder of the publicly traded parent company.
Critics, including Democratic lawmakers, have urged regulators to examine whether the service breaks the law. The Guardian Business reports that senators Adam Schiff and Elizabeth Warren sent a letter to SEC chair Paul Atkins asking the agency to investigate the new data offering days before the launch.
