XRP Ledger plans xrpld 3.3.0 upgrade with five validator amendments

Two previously withdrawn features, Batch and Permission Delegation, are returning in revised form after security researchers flagged signature validation flaws.

CoinDesk reports that the XRP Ledger is preparing an xrpld 3.3.0 release that will ask validators to approve five protocol amendments next week. The package includes revised versions of Batch and Permission Delegation, which were pulled earlier after researchers identified vulnerabilities that could have enabled unauthorized transaction execution.

Batch would let up to eight cross-account transactions execute atomically, meaning all succeed together or none do, and Permission Delegation would allow institutions to grant narrowly scoped signing authority without exposing full control. CoinDesk says these two amendments had already entered the voting process before and failed approval.

The other three amendments are Confidential MPT, Sponsored Fees and Reserves, and Dynamic MPT. CoinDesk reports they are aimed at enabling more private tokenized asset activity, allowing institutions to sponsor users XRP costs, and making certain token properties adjustable without full migrations.

CoinDesk also notes that amendments only take effect after at least 80% of trusted validators approve them for two consecutive weeks, a threshold designed to keep decisions with the broader validator set rather than any single party. The update follows an emergency action to mark the earlier Batch and Permission Delegation versions unsupported after the security findings.
