Chiikawa Artiverse returns to Hong Kong despite cancelled roundabout

The organiser cancelled the roundabout rides for safety, but the exhibition still runs through September 6 at K11 Musea.

The return of Chiikawa Artiverse, an exhibition tied to the popular Japanese manga series Chiikawa, has drawn crowds and higher-spending visitors in Hong Kong even as rainy weather and one major change affected parts of the event.

According to SCMP Economy, organisers canceled a much-anticipated roundabout at the K11 Musea promenade on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront due to safety reasons, with some attendees disappointed they could not ride the attraction.

Other visitors welcomed an alternative arrangement that kept a stationary roundabout in place, allowing fans to take photos with several characters, while the event remains in its second year.

The exhibition is organised by local design studio AllRightsReserved and will run until September 6, SCMP Economy said.
