RoofMarketplace introduces guaranteed pricing for full or partial roof replacements

The pricing is backed by competitive bids from vetted, manufacturer-certified local contractors and is intended to reduce negotiations and supplemental claims.

RoofMarketplace has launched Total Roof Price, a service designed to give insurers a guaranteed price for replacing an entire roof or an individual slope as part of property claims, while fitting into carriers' existing claims workflows, Coverager reports.

The company says the guaranteed amount is supported by competitive bids from vetted, local, manufacturer-certified roofing contractors, allowing adjusters to obtain a market-backed project price without changing their current processes. RoofMarketplace adds that the approach can cut down on negotiations and supplemental claims by replacing estimated costs with an upfront guaranteed price.

After a claim is approved, RoofMarketplace says homeowners and contractors can receive up to three competitive bids from local contractors. The company describes Total Roof Price as a market-based pricing layer for property claims rather than an estimating platform, pricing database, or managed repair program.

In explaining the motivation, RoofMarketplace Chief Strategy Officer Gwen Olson said that while material benchmarks and line-item software can estimate shingle costs, the service is meant to provide a guaranteed total project price backed by local contractors prepared to complete the work. RoofMarketplace was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
