Soybeans drift lower midday as meal and oil futures slide
Friday midday trading showed soybeans down 6 to 9.5 cents per bushel, while USDA cited a new 252,000 MT private sale for 2026/27 soybeans.
Soybeans were lower in midday trading on Friday, down about 6 to 9.5 cents, according to Yahoo Finance. The outlet also said the cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price rose 8.5 cents to $11.40.
In futures, soymeal was trading $4.00 to $4.50 lower across most contracts, and soy oil futures fell 120 to 140 points. Yahoo Finance reported that there were no deliveries issued against August soybeans or soybean oil first notice day, while 783 contracts were issued against August soybean meal.
USDA data referenced by Yahoo Finance showed a private export sale of 252,000 MT of 2026/27 soybeans to unknown destinations. The update also pointed to old crop soybean sales at 41.682 MMT, or 101% of the USDA forecast, with shipments of 38.971 MMT, or 94% of the USDA number.
On the demand and timing side, Yahoo Finance said new crop bean sales were 7.469 MMT, a 4-year high and 146.1% above the same period last year. It added that June crush data is due Monday, with expectations for 218.3 mbu of soybeans crushed, alongside bean oil stocks seen at 2.025 billion lbs.
