UBTech sees 13,361 orders for consumer humanoid robots

Pre-sales launched in early June, with initial deliveries scheduled to begin on September 16, and prices range from 119,800 yuan to 990,000 yuan.

South China Morning Post reports that Shenzhen-based UBTech Robotics has accumulated 13,361 orders for its U1 consumer humanoid robot series by June 30, less than a month after the company opened pre-sales in early June.

The company said initial deliveries are scheduled to begin on September 16. Its U1 lineup spans three models, Lite, Pro, and Ultra, ranging from partial-body units to full-sized humanoids.

UBTech priced the robots from 119,800 yuan to 990,000 yuan, positioning the machines primarily as emotional companions rather than task-focused household helpers.

According to the outlet, the robots are designed for natural interaction, including facial expressions, voice interaction, and AI-driven conversations.
