Better Home appoints Daniel Lewis interim CEO, replacing Vishal Garg

Better reported preliminary Q2 2026 funded volume of $1.67 billion, up 45% year over year, alongside a $30.6 million net loss as it pushes its Tinman platform and partner-led distribution.

Better Home and Finance Holding Co. has named board member Daniel Lewis as interim chief executive officer, effective immediately, replacing founder Vishal Garg, according to HousingWire.

HousingWire reports that Garg will remain on the board and work with Lewis on an orderly leadership transition. As interim CEO, Lewis will manage the organization, execute the board-approved operating plan, and set the company’s strategic direction.

HousingWire says Lewis brings more than 30 years of operating, investment, and governance experience, including serving as CEO of Ascend Fundraising Solutions from 2018 to 2023, and earlier work at Citigroup and founding Orange Capital LLC.

In connection with the transition, HousingWire notes that Better’s preliminary Q2 2026 financial performance included $1.67 billion in funded volume, up 45% year over year, $54.7 million in revenue, and a $30.6 million net loss, as the company leans into its Tinman platform and partner-led distribution. The company also said most of Lewis’s compensation will be tied to shareholder returns and long-term operating performance.
