Matt Prusak leaves American Bitcoin to join Giga Energy
Prusak will step down from American Bitcoin effective Aug. 4 and take an interim CFO role at Giga Energy as the industry pivots toward AI power infrastructure.
CoinDesk reports that Matt Prusak, president and interim CFO of Trump-linked bitcoin miner American Bitcoin, is leaving the company to join Houston-based Giga Energy.
Prusak will step down from American Bitcoin effective Aug. 4 and become Giga Energy’s chief business officer and interim CFO.
The move highlights an industry shift as some bitcoin mining executives reposition toward AI and power infrastructure, a trend CoinDesk ties to mining’s increasing commoditization and margin pressure.
CoinDesk adds that Giga Energy says it has delivered more than 6.5 gigawatts of power infrastructure and is developing more than 500 megawatts of AI-ready data center capacity, reflecting the growing value being placed on electricity and compute support for AI workloads.
