Everspan, Sedgwick and Alacrity add specialty claims leadership
Everspan hired a new head of reinsurance, separating the role from underwriting as the fronting platform expands its capacity.
Insurance Business reports that three specialty and claims-services companies announced senior leadership changes, signaling continued investment across underwriting, marine claims and revenue leadership in the specialty and claims services market.
Everspan Group, a fronting carrier and wholly owned subsidiary of Octave Specialty Group, added executives to build out dedicated underwriting and reinsurance functions. David Kenyon joined as head of reinsurance on July 31, Bevan Greibesland will start as chief underwriting officer on August 10, and Forest Clay Stewart is set to become chief operating officer on August 17, with all three reporting to Darwin Lucas, president of Everspan Group. The appointments separate underwriting and reinsurance leadership that had previously been managed as a combined role.
Insurance Business says the structural shift is notable for MGAs and program administrators partnering with Everspan, because a dedicated reinsurance head can indicate a fronting platform is scaling its ability to cede risk and formalizing how that risk is handled. Everspan said the hires support growth plans to expand its portfolio while maintaining underwriting discipline and an operational focus.
The outlet also reports that Sedgwick secured new Lloyd's surveyor appointments to expand its marine claims footprint on the Gulf Coast, and Alacrity named a new chief revenue officer to support its claims management and recovery solutions business.
