Ardent, Ironwood open Class-A self-storage in Woonsocket, Rhode Island
The three-story, 80,000-square-foot facility includes 913 climate-controlled units and was built on a long-vacant brownfield that was remediated through Rhode Island’s voluntary cleanup program.
Ardent Companies and Ironwood Development Partners have opened a Class-A self-storage facility in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, at 153 Hamlet Ave., according to ConnectCRE.
The property is a three-story, 80,000-square-foot development with 913 climate-controlled units, and it will be managed by Extra Space Storage.
ConnectCRE reports the project is Ardent’s first completed development in Rhode Island and the 10th asset delivered through its Self-Storage Development Fund II.
The companies said the long-vacant brownfield site has been transformed into a productive facility as part of broader local revitalization, after the property was remediated via the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s voluntary cleanup program. Ricardo De Rojas, managing director at Ardent, said the location offered high visibility and a dense population base, and that delivering a facility to meet market demand also creates long-term value for the community.
