China allocates 99.9 billion yuan for childcare subsidies this year

The program pays families 3,600 yuan annually per child under three and has reached more than 25 million babies, state media said.

China has increased funding for its national childcare subsidy this year, allocating 99.9 billion yuan, or about US$14.8 billion, to the program, according to SCMP Economy.

The subsidy provides families with 3,600 yuan annually for each child under three.

SCMP Economy added that state media reported the subsidy had been received by families of more than 25 million babies as of last month.
