Chinese stocks look undervalued, Himalaya Capital chairman says

Li Lu, who described himself as close to Charlie Munger, made the comments as markets diverged between China and the US.

Shares in Chinese companies present better opportunities than investors see in other periods, according to Li Lu, Chinese American founder and chairman of Seattle based value investment firm Himalaya Capital, in remarks carried by SCMP Economy.

Li Lu tied his view to what he described as a wider perspective for rational investors, saying the current market environment could offer opportunities beyond those available at different times.

The comments came as Chinese and Hong Kong stocks have been struggling despite China’s economic growth, along with supply chain dominance and fast technology advances, while US stocks have reached new highs despite high inflation, government debt concerns, and two decade high Treasury yields, SCMP Economy reported.

Li Lu, said he was close to Charlie Munger, said investors might take a different perspective by weighing the whole picture, according to SCMP Economy.
