Hong Kong Food Expo set to draw more exhibitors from Asia and beyond

The five-day expo, opening next Thursday, includes more than 1,850 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions, with vendors debuting from Brunei and East Timor and first-time participation from all 11 ASEAN countries.

Vendors in Hong Kong heading into a major Food Expo expect stronger sales and higher foot traffic than last year, pointing to factors including better weather, discounts, and stand-out products such as caviar sake gelato, according to the SCMP Economy.

The five-day expo is scheduled to open next Thursday as part of a slate of trade fairs, with the Trade Development Council saying the broader set includes more than 1,850 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions.

The Trade Development Council also said the expo will feature international food companies and new country participation, with vendors from Brunei and East Timor set to debut. Exhibitors from Greece and Colombia will also make their debuts.

In remarks published by the outlet, the council’s associate executive director said the city’s role as an international food trading hub supports vendors looking to enter overseas markets, and that this year marks the first time all 11 ASEAN countries will take part.
