Munich Re Specialty highlights AI and loss control evolution in white paper
The insurer says its loss control model now focuses on using AI-driven claims insights and education to help underwriters anticipate emerging risks, not just respond after losses.
Munich Re Specialty outlined a broader approach to loss control in a white paper, describing the function as far more than inspections and post-loss recommendations. The company said loss control now supports insurers in anticipating emerging risks, strengthening underwriting decisions, and delivering more value to brokers and insureds.
According to the white paper, Munich Re Specialty’s loss control work is shaped by technical expertise, collaborative partnerships, and technology. It said it leverages AI to find deeper claims insights, shares practical knowledge through industry education, and works alongside underwriting and claims teams to build a more proactive, data-informed process.
The white paper also argues that AI is already changing claims outcomes by enabling faster care, earlier and smarter decisions, and scalable innovation intended to reduce industry costs. Munich Re Specialty said success requires overcoming established habits and adopting a more modular approach to technology.
The material also cites a report from Gallagher, saying buyers have faced favorable conditions amid growing uncertainty and evolving risks, with AI delivering measurable results for insurers willing to adopt change, according to the summary.
