Talks to reopen Strait of Hormuz seen near-stages as oil slips

Oil prices fell as investors priced in progress on talks among Iran and Oman, helping lift stocks, CNBC Markets reported.

CNBC Markets reported that Iran and Oman said talks on reopening the Strait of Hormuz are in the final stages.

The outlet said President Donald Trump again teased that a deal could be close, a development that helped weigh on oil prices.

At the same time, investors responded by moving into stocks, sending stock indexes higher, according to CNBC Markets.
