China TV shows footage of Kadena Air Base as a PLA missile target
The broadcast depicts a PLA Rocket Force officer discussing combat scenarios using a satellite image that appears to match the Okinawa base layout.
Chinese state television aired footage that appears to show the US Air Force’s Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, being treated as a target by the PLA missile force, according to the SCMP Economy.
The segment, aired as part of a documentary episode, included a satellite image in the background and showed a PLA Rocket Force officer addressing personnel while standing in front of a large screen displaying that image, the outlet reported.
The satellite image, described as slightly out of focus, showed an airfield surrounded by urban development, with the runway and nearby built-up areas said to closely match Kadena’s layout, SCMP Economy added.
The officer, identified in the report as Luo Tingrong, was shown speaking while the satellite view was presented as part of an exercise and combat scenario discussion, according to the publication.
