Mapfre and Carrefour launch insurance products in Spain
Carrefour Club members get a 3% rebate on eligible policies via Carrefour Savings Check.
Mapfre and Carrefour have launched an insurance partnership in Spain, enabling Carrefour customers to buy coverage through Carrefour’s tied insurance agency. The initial product set includes accident, death, and grocery basket insurance, with more offerings expected to roll out later.
The companies said the partnership is designed to combine Carrefour’s retail footprint with Mapfre’s insurance capabilities to create a more integrated distribution model. Enrollment is available through digital and telephone channels.
Carrefour Club members receive a 3% rebate on eligible policies, credited to their Carrefour Savings Check when purchasing new policies or renewing existing ones. The launch follows an earlier exclusive agreement between the firms.
Mapfre, Spain’s largest insurer, serves 7.2 million customers in the country. In 2025, it reported €9.6 billion in premiums in Spain, up 11.1% year over year, and net profit of €436 million, up 24.5%.
