U.S. commercial crude oil inventories rise by 2.0 million barrels
The latest EIA data for the week ending July 17, 2026 shows crude stocks at 411.7 million barrels, 6% below the 2021 to 2025 five-year average.
U.S. commercial crude oil inventories increased by 2.0 million barrels in the latest Energy Information Administration report, with stocks (excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve) rising to 411.7 million barrels for the week ending July 17, 2026.
The EIA said the crude total remained below the 2021 to 2025 five-year average, sitting 6% lower than that benchmark.
The report also noted gasoline inventories increased by 0.8 million barrels, and distillate inventories rose by 1.4 million barrels, with both still coming in below their respective five-year averages, according to the EIA.
