ADNOC says it has faced 15 attacks on vessels amid Hormuz risk

ADNOC reported one crew member was killed and 20 others injured since the attacks began, including three hits this week.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company said attacks on its vessels and employees are disrupting operations as it works to keep crude, gas, and refined products moving through the Strait of Hormuz. OilPrice reports ADNOC said 15 of its vessels have been hit by missiles or drones since the war began, including three this week.

ADNOC said one crew member has been killed and 20 others injured. The outlet also notes the Strait of Hormuz handled roughly one-fifth of global oil consumption before the conflict expanded into a broader regional one.

The attacks have disrupted commercial traffic through the waterway, pushed freight costs higher, and led some shipowners to be reluctant to enter the Persian Gulf, according to OilPrice. ADNOC said it is coordinating with authorities to protect personnel and assets while meeting customer requirements as much as possible in what it called an exceptionally challenging operating environment.

OilPrice added that the damage and security risk are hitting a Gulf producer that has restored exports close to pre-war levels. The UAE has relied on crude loading points outside Hormuz, including Fujairah, while still moving some barrels through the strait, and ADNOC said it is expanding its own shipping capacity.
