Typhoon Dolphin disrupts flights across eastern China, including Shanghai

As of noon, Shanghai Pudong had 130 delayed departures and 66 cancellations, and 72 arriving flights were canceled, according to a flight tracking app.

Flights serving eastern China were disrupted on Saturday as Typhoon Dolphin approached the coast, with some services cancelled and airlines offering flexible rebooking and refund options for affected passengers, according to SCMP Economy.

Most of the typhoon-related flight disruptions have been reported at airports in Ningbo, Wenzhou, Taizhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai, based on Chinese media coverage, the outlet reported.

Flight service app Umetrip showed Shanghai Pudong International Airport had 937 scheduled departing flights on Saturday, with 130 delayed and 66 cancelled as of noon. Umetrip also indicated that 72 arriving flights had been cancelled.

At Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, Umetrip data showed 69 flights cancelled on Saturday, including 35 departures and 34 arrivals, SCMP Economy said.
