Bitcoin holds above $65,000 as CLARITY Act delay supports risk-on
BTC traded near $65,200 and gained 3.7% for the week even after the Senate failed to pass the CLARITY Act before its August recess.
Bitcoin held near $65,200 on Monday, extending a rebound from an early-August low near $62,000, with the market led by BTC up 3.7% on the week, according to CoinDesk data.
Ether traded near $1,925, while BNB, Solana, and TRON also posted weekly gains as the broader top of the market strengthened.
The move came despite the Senate not passing the CLARITY Act before leaving for its August recess, when it mustered 51 of the 60 votes needed and left any action to September 14 at the earliest.
CoinDesk linked the resilience to ongoing spot ETF inflows, alongside a softer US dollar after the weak US jobs report, and noted Michael Saylor posted Strategy's bitcoin-buy chart over the weekend, days after the firm disclosed selling about 1,638 BTC to fund buybacks.
