MassDevelopment names Bran Shim EVP and CFO
Shim joins from the Massachusetts Executive Office for Administration and Finance, where he previously served as state budget director and finance director.
MassDevelopment has hired Bran Shim as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer, adding him to the agency’s executive team to provide enterprise-wide financial leadership. The appointment includes oversight of the agency’s financial and accounting functions, according to ConnectCRE.
The agency said Shim will help steward MassDevelopment’s finances as part of its broader mission to support economic growth, advance communities, and expand opportunity across Massachusetts.
ConnectCRE reports that Shim comes to MassDevelopment from the Massachusetts Executive Office for Administration and Finance, where he served in multiple senior roles, including senior advisor, assistant secretary, state budget director, and finance director.
The outlet also noted that Shim serves as an adjunct lecturer in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, focusing on financial management and urban policy. Economic Development Secretary Eric Paley, chair of MassDevelopment’s board of directors, said Shim’s experience in public finance leadership will help the agency remain a strong partner in economic development efforts.
