Bitcoin trades in a tight $62,000 to $66,000 range as ETF buying offsets sellers

Bitcoin has been mostly flat for about five weeks, with volumes and implied volatility at multiyear lows, while Wednesday’s U.S. CPI and progress on the Clarity Act are seen as possible catalysts.

Bitcoin has stayed pinned in a narrow $62,000 to $66,000 trading range for weeks, as steady spot ETF inflows are largely offset by selling from miners and corporate holders, including MicroStrategy, according to CoinDesk.

The outlet reports that trading volumes and implied volatility have fallen to multiyear lows, leaving investors with limited momentum and positioning that appears more hedged than directional. On Tuesday, BTC was around $63,500, down 0.6% over the past 24 hours, extending a five-week standstill.

CoinDesk also cites analysts pointing to competing flows, where ETFs and bitcoin treasury-focused demand provide more price-insensitive support, while recent corporate treasury activity has added offsetting selling pressure. As a result, Bitcoin gained only about 2% last week despite strong ETF inflows and firmer broader risk markets.

Looking ahead, CoinDesk highlights Wednesday’s U.S. CPI report as a potential trigger for a larger move if Bitcoin breaks out of the range, alongside possible regulatory progress on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. Seasonality data also suggest September is historically weak for the cryptocurrency, adding to the uncertainty around timing.
