Manus returns as independent company after Meta deal unwind

Meta had agreed to buy Manus for $2.0 billion, but the parties reversed course after China required the transaction be unwound.

CNBC Markets reports that Manus is set to return as an independent company after Meta unwound a planned acquisition.

The reversal follows Meta's earlier plan, announced last December, to buy Manus for $2.0 billion as part of its push to strengthen its AI strategy.

According to CNBC, the unwind was required by China, ending the $2 billion deal before it could close.
