ADM to expand oilseed crush capacity to support biofuels demand
The company plans to add about 700,000 tonnes of crush capacity and use an extra 25 million bushels of oilseeds at four US production facilities.
ADM plans to expand four US oilseed crush facilities to add about 700,000 tonnes of capacity, using an additional 25 million bushels of oilseeds to support biofuels demand, World Grain reports.
The company expects to grow capacity by targeting improvements to existing operations, initially focusing investment at its Frankfort, Indiana, Deerfield, Missouri, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Spiritwood, North Dakota facilities.
Spiritwood is operated through the Green Bison joint venture with Marathon Petroleum Corp., and ADM said the expansion effort would center on the four production sites.
World Grain also highlights related capacity investment across the sector, including Bunge Global SA’s €4.4 million upgrade to a soybean processing facility in Italy and Cargill’s planned $150 million sunflower processing upgrade in France, plus other project details at multiple locations.
