Suncorp appoints Bridget Messer to lead brand and digital distribution
The insurer said the new role is designed to help it scale insurance distribution using AI, and the changes take effect Aug. 17 pending regulatory approvals.
Australian insurer Suncorp Group announced executive leadership changes, including the appointment of Bridget Messer as chief executive for a newly created role covering customer, brand, and digital.
Messer, who currently serves as chief risk officer, will lead a structure that brings together the insurer’s brand, marketing, and digital distribution teams. Suncorp said the role is intended to help it capitalize on the competitive advantage of its brands and to better realize opportunities from AI in faster, more efficient insurance distribution.
Suncorp also said Lisa Harrison will move to lead its Commercial and Personal Injury portfolios, while retaining accountability for the rollout of its Digital Insurer program. Michael Mille was appointed chief executive for Consumer Insurance, shifting away from his prior position overseeing Commercial and Personal Injury.
Following those moves, Michelle Bain, currently executive general manager of Compulsory Third Party Insurance, will join the executive leadership team as chief risk officer. Suncorp said the changes will be effective on Aug. 17, subject to relevant regulatory approvals, according to Reinsurance News.
