Waterways Leisure Tourism sets 1:10 stock split record date for Aug. 26

The record date will determine eligibility for the plan to subdivide one ₹10 share into 10 shares of ₹1 each, a move aimed at broadening retail access and improving secondary market liquidity.

Waterways Leisure Tourism has set 26 August as the record date for a proposed 1:10 stock split, according to LiveMint Markets. The company said the record date will determine which shareholders are eligible for the subdivision of its shares.

The split will divide each existing one share of face value ₹10 into 10 shares with face value ₹1 each. Waterways Leisure Tourism also reported that its shareholders approved the sub-division through a postal ballot on 12 August, with the resolution receiving the required majority of votes cast.

The company said its paid-up share capital will remain unchanged at ₹72.4 crore, while the number of equity shares will rise from 7,23,94,543 shares of ₹10 each to 72,39,45,430 shares of ₹1 each once the corporate action is completed.

In explaining the rationale, the tour and travel firm said the share split is intended to make its equity shares more accessible to a wider investor base, especially retail investors, and to support greater participation and liquidity in the secondary market. Chairman Jurgen Bailom said the approval marks a milestone in making the listed company more accessible to investors.
