Amynta Group to acquire Southern States’ insurance operations
The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval, and is designed to expand Amynta into agribusiness insurance.
Amynta Group has agreed to acquire Southern States Underwriters and SSC Insurance Agency, the insurance operations of Southern States Cooperative, as part of an expansion into agribusiness coverage.
Southern States Underwriters, founded in 1953 and based in Richmond, Virginia, is a managing general underwriter focused on commercial property and casualty insurance for agricultural suppliers, distributors, and service providers, including attorney-in-fact and exclusive distribution roles tied to Southern States Insurance Exchange.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Amynta said President John Madden will continue to lead the acquired business, and Southern States Cooperative will remain a long-term customer.
Amynta expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The company also noted its platform manages more than $4 billion in premium globally across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia.
