Arch Insurance International names James Mecham deputy CUO for long tail lines
The appointment, effective immediately, also makes Mecham Head of General Casualty and he will report to Long Tail Lines CUO Mike Lay.
Arch Insurance International, the international insurance unit of Arch Capital Group, appointed James Mecham as Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for Long Tail Lines, effective immediately.
Mecham will work alongside Mike Lay, CUO of Long Tail Lines, to support the underwriting strategy for the business, spanning long tail portfolios operated across Arch’s London Market, UK Regional, Australia, and EU units.
In addition to the deputy CUO role, Arch said Mecham will become Head of General Casualty, with responsibilities covering strategic oversight of general liability, energy and marine liability, and professional lines portfolios.
Based in London, Mecham joined Arch in 2019 as Head of Casualty and has more than 20 years of underwriting experience, according to the company.
