ASU to add Tribute Portfolio hotel in Novus Innovation Corridor

The seven-story, 116,855-square-foot project is planned as a Marriott Bonvoy Tribute Portfolio property with 168 guest rooms and about 2,700 square feet of meeting space.

Arizona State University is adding an upscale hotel to its Main Street entertainment district at the Novus Innovation Corridor, a project that will become part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Tribute Portfolio, according to ConnectCRE.

The hotel is expected to be seven stories and cover 116,855 square feet, featuring 168 guest rooms, a rooftop pool and bar, and 2,700 square feet of meeting space.

ConnectCRE also notes that sports venue anchored mixed use districts are drawing attention for their ability to attract visitors and support higher surrounding property values, citing ASU’s broader investment program at Novus.

ASU’s planned spending at the Novus campus includes more than $150 million for sports venues, with $55 million for an indoor football practice facility and $100 million for modernization of the university’s 51-year-old Desert Financial Arena, plus a $300 million renovation of Mountain America Stadium and a $140 million, 5,000 seat Mullett Arena project.
