Bermuda Stock Exchange boosts insurance-linked securities to $70.5bn
As of June 30, 2026, the exchange listed 146 ILS securities and program structures in the first half, including $16.12bn in catastrophe bond notes.
The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) expanded its market share of catastrophe bonds and other insurance-linked securities (ILS) in the second quarter of 2026, ending the period with a record-high $70.5 billion of ILS related listings as of June 30, 2026, Artemis reports.
Artemis says the BSX’s ILS listings rose from more than $68.5 billion after the first quarter, supported by record second-quarter catastrophe bond issuance plus multiple new private cat bond and ILS deals listed on the exchange.
In the first half of 2026, the BSX listed 146 ILS related securities and program structures, totaling almost $16.5 billion, with $16.12 billion tied to catastrophe bond notes and programs and the remainder tied to a single mortgage ILS issuance in the year so far.
By mid-year 2026, the BSX hosted about 775 cat bond and related ILS listings valued at $70.5 billion, including $62.6 billion in catastrophe-bond related listings, up from nearly $60.9 billion at March 31, and representing 95.4% of the private and 144A catastrophe bond market volume of $65.6 billion.
