Heffernan Life Division partners with Lion Street for HNW planning

The deal, effective August 1, 2026, expands Heffernan's access to advanced life insurance strategies such as business succession planning and corporate-owned life insurance.

Heffernan Insurance Brokers says its Life Division has entered a partnership with Lion Street, a national network of firms focused on advanced life insurance and wealth planning for high-net-worth individuals and business owners. The affiliation takes effect August 1, 2026 and is designed to give Heffernan access to Lion Street's broader platform for more complex planning needs, including business succession, executive benefits, tax-efficient wealth transfer, asset protection and corporate-owned life insurance strategies.

Under the arrangement, Heffernan has also partnered with Adeo Partners and Oakmont Group, two firms in San Francisco and Houston that bring more than 40 years of collective experience in advanced life insurance planning. Both practices are described as focused on complex planning cases, which the partnership is intended to support when Heffernan encounters transactions that require deeper specialists.

Insurance Business notes that Lion Street operates as a network of independently owned firms, not a single advisory practice, and that member firms share access to carrier relationships, an in-house broker-dealer, and other specialist resources for advanced planning cases. The outlet also links the network to Integrity Marketing Group, describing it as a life insurance and wealth distribution consolidator that acquired Lion Street and continued expanding its footprint.

Heffernan’s Life Division director, Steve Brandel, said the partnership is meant to pair Heffernan’s client relationships with more technical expertise for HNW families and businesses. Insurance Business adds that strategies enabled through the network, such as premium-financed life insurance, private placement variable life and annuity products, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and split-dollar executive benefit structures, typically require specialists who handle these deals regularly.
